Recalls and Warnings About Teething Tablets
If you are using homeopathic teething tablets, there has been a recall for Hyland’s teething tablets. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is warning that homeopathic teething tablets and gels may post a risk to infants and children. With that, Hyland’s has issued a recall for “Baby Teething Tablets,” and “Baby Nighttime Teething Tablets.”
The company in a notice posted on their website says “the Company discontinued the manufacture and sale of these same products in October 2016. As part of the recall, consumers should discard any teething products they may have.”
The FDA, says any type of these teething gels or tablets that are sold in retail stores or online, pose a risk to children and haven’t been proven to work. They are investigating what they call “adverse events” that have been reported to them, including seizures in infants and children.
Hyland says that they are adhering to what the FDA asked them to do with the recall, but felt the products were safe. The company says all the products met with their safety tests and were well tested before heading to market place.
