Explosion Rocks Joseph’s Steakhouse in Historic Building

At approximately 2PM on Monday, 911 received reports of an explosion and fire at Joseph’s Steakhouse on Route 9G in Hyde Park, just south of the Val-Kill site.
First Responders arrived and confirmed the presence of a large fire. Additional fire departments including Poughkeepsie, Fairview, Hyde Park, Staatsburg, and Pleasant Valley were requested to the scene and other departments relocated equipment to the departments of the agencies working at the scene.
The west side of the building, located next to Creek Road, was demolished. Remnants of the kitchen exhaust fan and other debris were located in the street.
The cause and origin of the explosion/fire are currently under investigation. At this time, no injuries have been reported.
