They can be inspired by so many things like the wildlife, the beauty of our state, become excited about science and math, maybe even want to hear stories of places you visited as a kid. Unfortunately, visiting state parks can also be cost-prohibitive for many families in the Hudson Valley.

This is where the New York State Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation comes in.

They offer a Connect Kids to the Parks pass which enables any 4th grader free admission to New York State parks. This pass also applies to the vehicle admittance fee at state parks. If you're visiting a state historic site, the pass gets not only the 4th grader i, but up to 3 adults as well, for the house tour fees.

They're hoping this program will encourage youth visitation to these sites throughout the state and fourth graders, or their parents, can print their passes here.
